Medical Coder

A Medical Coder is one of the most important aspects of Medical Billing, and without it the healthcare provider would most likely never be compensated for it’s services.

A Medical Coder is a system that is used to allocate a set of numbers or letters to the different services that the healthcare provider uses. In order for the healthcare provider to submit a claim to the insurance company, it has to use the “code” that the insurance company provides.

If the wrong code is used, then the insurance company would not be able to track the services that are on the claim, and the healthcare provider would have to resubmit the claim with the right code.
