The International Classification of Diseases - 9-CM- Medical Billing Information

The International Classification of Diseases Clinical Modification (ICD -9-CM) is used in assigning codes and classify morbidity data from the inpatient and outpatient records, physician offices and most of the National Center for Heath Statistics. This also includes reporting causes of death on the death certificate. There are three volumes of the ICD-9-CM : Volume 1 is for tabular listing, Volume 2 is for index and Volume 3 is for procedure codes.
